Move It Continues to Hire Riders in Cebu Despite LTFRB’s Controversial Order

Posted on

Move It is continuing to hire riders in Cebu despite the recent order from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to reduce its fleet size in the National Capital Region (NCR) and cease operations in Cebu and Cagayan de Oro. The company is holding a recruitment event, “Move It Cebu Kabuhayan Caravan,” on May 3-4, 2025, at the Paradise Garden Events Pavilion in Mandaue City, Cebu.

Details of the Recruitment Event

  • Date: May 3-4, 2025 (Saturday-Sunday)
  • Time: Until 7:00 PM
  • Location: Paradise Garden Events Pavilion, Mandaue City, Cebu
  • Benefits:
    • 15% commission for the first two weeks
    • Free gears (helmet, long sleeves, raincoat, vest)
    • Free accident insurance

LTFRB’s Order

The LTFRB has ordered Move It to reduce its rider count to 6,836 in the NCR, which would affect around 14,000 riders nationwide. The board also directed the company to stop operations in Cebu and Cagayan de Oro, citing lack of permission to operate in these areas. Move It’s general manager, Wayne Jacinto, has expressed concerns about the potential displacement of 6,000 riders from Cebu and Cagayan de Oro if they comply with the order.
